Dodec Man was used at the Blacktown
Festival. These photos are video pic snaps.
We were 6th in the parade and thus the
trip went very fast - too fast to take many
photos. There is also a secret.. and for that
you'll have to look right to the end of
this page..
The parade route was altered from 2001
due to the streets having been deleted (!)
due to a new shopping centre development.
While this meant a shorter and potentially
easier route, changes to safety
precautions (which almost saw the Dodec deemed too dangerous to use) meant we had to start from the "Vehicle" marshalling point which is about 1km from the actual parade starting point. 1km is a long way (uphill) for a Dodec in a hurry!
This year we had Slash as our assistant
(complete in Pirate costume!) as Mrs
Lycra was nursing our newborn (5 months
at rolling time) Kimberley. She also took
the video footage.
Paul Tree (Chook) was the (ever so
important) Brake Man, and Leon Hall
again did the honours holding the flag
and handing Dodec Man his water jugs.
costume has been altered slightly with
a new rope girdle assembly to hold the
costume firmly on Mr Lycra and make
sure his best parts are in full view.
