A More accurate view of what happens when a Ranger Morphs

For some reason this series of shots is rated "AO". You decide. Certainly these shots seem to illustrate how I feel when I give the command. As mentioned previously on the last page, most XLPFE (like mine) and some M2A armor packages require the recipient to be totally free of any non living adornments on their body. In some nasty cases long hair (especially in the groin area on males) and long fingernails have been known to cause medical problems when the morph is reversed.

This frontal view of my Metalder activating gives a better idea of what happens during a typical XLPFE Morph
on a human. The process is very fast, taking less than 3 seconds. It is pretty quiet too - it sounds like a muffled electrical "Splat" coupled with a rushing sound.
Actually, I'm pretty certain this one was designed originally for a female, for obvious reasons - although I have noticed Zordon gave some of his female Rangers skirts on their armor which is quite hard to do.

Woe behold any male who gets the urge to morph when they're sexually excited. Very few XLPFEs and none of Zordon's M2A range will tolerate dimension changes to the body for which they were designed.. and us Earthling males apparently have a reputation for our size and the speed at which we change. I'm not aware of anyone who has experienced a morphological chop yet though.

Secondly, my central nervous system is altered to remove my instinct motor functions, this instead being handled by the armor more or less as an "exoskeleton" of nerves - held together by the fabric of primary fields. Most of the flesh just below my skin becomes inert and there is no feeling - I can't feel the inside of the armor. Instead I feel whatever the Armor feels itself. It is very thorough and once the process is complete, it is comfortable regardless of temperature or atmospheric pressure, and can even withstand a vacuum or deep underwater. The other nervous changes that happen are related to Mutual Understanding, something which I am loathed to understand (ironically..)

Finally, most of my remaining human functions transfer to the Armor, in particular the helmet.. My sight, audio and sense of smell are restored, and I can see / hear / smell as if I didn't have the helmet on at all. My lungs are fed their required nutrients and pressure by the armor, and thus I don't need to breathe air (although I do still breathe my own air again and again inside the armor as a hermetically sealed system). The same is done for stomach and intestines. Any wastes that the body excretes while it is morphed (sweat, salts, pee, poop etc) is simply derezzed as soon as it touches the inside of the armor. My heart remains beating and circulating blood, and the brain is fully active.

I am a Maker not a morphin master however I have included this section at the request of so many interested colleagues who are intrigued by what a Ranger actually is.. and so now you know. There are alot of processes in Morphing that I don't understand myself. Anyone wishing to know more about the process should contact Billy Reeves (Zordon's Original Blue Ranger) as he has completed four levels of the MorphinMaster course and easily runs rings around me on the subject of anything Morphin. But then again.. I run rings around him on the subject of Zords..

The process begins as a single shaped Primary Field is wrapped around the recipient. The "Crack" that is heard at the start is nothing more than all the air and possible pollutants being excluded from the operational zone. The field gives off a faint glow in the form of an aura which remains for the whole process, finally dropping out in the very last moment. Most of you would be aware that all living things have "an aura" around them. (no I'm not referring to new age witchcraft, they actually do have one.)  The controlgear uses this to define the boundaries of the armor application and the field exclusion zone. When initialising, the gear physically checks (called formatting) every strand of DNA in the body being transformed before starting the process. Normally hair and fingernails get included in this but sometimes very long hair can be a problem, along with any non-living implant inside the body that might be present. Next, a number of processes begin concurrently;

The armor formation begins. The armor consists of a "woven fabric" of energy and matter constructs. At each intersection of two "strands" of "fabric", a miniature notional primary field is formed. Each alternate field is opposite in polarity to the last, resulting in a self sustaining (i.e. it needs little power to maintain and use) inpenetrable barrier which (according to Belzahman's Law) reflects any energy or force directed towards it independent of the wearer. Normally the armor formation begins at the tip extremities of the body and works towards the middle, however in this example it starts in vertical symmetry with the human form (I'm not sure why, or even if it was just a one off experiment.) The helmet likewise is also formed in the same way. Once joined and sealed, the process of rezoluting any extras (such as weapons, special deflectors, insignia etc) begins, in this case including the silver mounting strips on my armor. These were originally designed to hold other combat devices and materials that were never designed or completed once the Metalder project was shelved at Ninjor's.

A word about the various standby modes now found in Ranger gear : originally it was impossible to remove helmets or any part of the armor without collapsing the entire field and risking the wearer's life. (When a field collapses there is the chance that any internal changes made to a body will not be reversed, the most obvious being reinstatement of breathing function, thus the recipient would instantly asphixiate, amongst other things..) However over the milenia there have been complex systems designed (many by Ninjor and Zordon) to retain a totally separate (and externally powered) field which allows things like helmets, gloves to be removed while the Ranger remains "Morphed". On my example, this includes the hands and feet which (since they were never completed) are always in "standby mode" and thus this portion of my system saps large amounts of power that would normally not be needed. I _can_ remove my helmet but the system takes _alot_ of power when I do, more than my little homemade adaptor can provide.
